The cost of water has been escalating over the past few years and will continue to do so in the near future. With the advent of sustainable solutions and LEED programs, improving water efficiency is on the forefront. The associated costs of water have many elements including water entering the facility, costs to treat water for use, and the cost to discharge water. Applied Water Solutions has designed and installed systems for water reuse/recycle where the client has not only met Green Initiatives, but where the return on investment (ROI) has been within one fiscal year.
Many companies have water treatment systems that take the water entering the plant (potable influent) and treat the water using multiple technologies. Each one of the processes involves fixed costs (capital) and variable costs (maintenance). The amount of treatment is dependent on what level of purification the client needs. After the water meets the client requirements it is typically used for rinsing, boiler feed, cleaning applications or added into a product.
